I have met Dr Lain at IMCAS world congress in Paris and I am very impressed with his deep knowledge of acne, microbiota, Rosacea and Dermatology. He is a very well considered expert internationally and we all learn from him. I think he deserves the best trust from his patients. This dermatologist really know what he’s doing. From a professional point of view he deserves a 10 rather than a 5

A few weeks ago after my mother (who is a nurse in the Austin area) recommended Dr. Lain because I’ve been dealing with moderate acne.

He didn’t even touch my skin before giving me his medical advice. I wasn’t going to think anything of it until I got my insurance bill in the mail. If I didn’t have insurance I would have been charged $340 for a doctor to NOT even touch my face or give me a proper exam. He automatically suggested the most intense & harsh medical treatment & disregarded the fact my chart since I’m planning to get pregnant. I will not bet returning solely for the fact this doctor doesn’t even exam patrons properly.

The couple of experiences I've had directly with Dr. Lain are very good, his diagnostics were very accurate and the medications he gave me worked perfectly.

My bad experience is more against his staff.

I just got off the phone trying to make an appointment. The assistant told me that I couldn't schedule because of a due balance, which I paid in full last year as soon as I knew I had it.

I asked her if she could check again and she told me that I should contact with the collection agency that works with them. First of all, I consider that's something they need to do, since I made my part of paying and I'm their customer.

I asked her if they could check with them, and, after putting me on hold for a few minutes, she gets back on the phone and tells me I should be the one making the contact. I have no problem contacting the agency, even if, again, I consider I shouldn't be the one doing it. But the bad experience came up next.

Right after she gave me the news, she starts dictating the agency's information, so I interrupt her because I didn't have where to write down at that moment. Instead I ask her if she could send me via email the information, when I surprisingly get no for an answer because "she had no time to do so". She tells me to call back whenever I am ready with pen in hand and hangs up.

Talk about client experience. I know for sure I'm not going back again, because even that Dr. Lain is pretty good, what makes their staff think their minute is more valuable than a patient's time?

I've gone to Dr. Lain for at least 10 years. I have had some botox and fillers but he's also worked on some small skin cancers. I feel 100% confident in his services on both ends of the spectrum, so it's worth the little drive I make out to Steiner Ranch.

The doc was curt and dismissive. And expensive. If you are a soccer mom who wants botox, maybe he's your guy, but for genuine health concerns, I dunno.
