First of all, I want to say that my teacher was adequate, personable and professional. I have no issue with teaching staff.
I do however have issue with the front office conduct and the way they represent their fees and billing.
First of all, what they say they will charge is actually sliding scale that increases. For example, if the class is for 10 people @ 75 € each and only 5 people come to class you actually will be charged 150€. Additionally, you are never informed of this until you are in class. No where on the class schedule class pages does it state this. Also, during the registration process it is also not said. One would think it would be IN BIG BOLD LETTERS up front and apart of every step, especially in the registration process when you imput your personal informationand banking details. YOUR FEE MAY INCREASE DEPENDANT ON ATTENDANCE! Right?
That would make sense. Instead, they do tell you this BUT it's waaaay in the back of the catalog in teeny tiny little letters that you need a magnifying glass to see and it's after all this other stuff that you wouldn't even sniff at like Carona regulations and stuff.
I'm telling you, you'd probably fall asleep by the time you found it. Which you won't because you really have to search for it.
Another issue is, on the first day of class, (if it's not filled to maximum capacity) an office person will come in and tell you that you may have to pay more but you should just wait and see if anyone shows up because you might pay less. Then this person has everyone sign an attendance sheet in order to charge you for the one day if you decide not to continue with the class due to it being beyond your means. Then they come in and out several times to talk about how they're going to charge more and ask if that is ok with you (it's not).
Seriously, the first day personal took 10 or more minutes from the class. The second day five. The fourth day 15 minutes of Blah Blah Blah about how we will be charged. During our learning time which we are paying for.
My story is, tomorow is my fifth day and there eventually was a few more who came in a couple days, yesterday and today and we ended up with 8 folks. So our tuition fee was charged up from 75 to (I think) 89.50€. Not a big increase but why couldn't they have mentioned all of this from the beginning? AND stay out of our learning environment when we are in class to learn. Also, I have been stressing out about this every time this person came in the class and could not concentrate properly like I normally would.
It's all just really annoying..
and shady.
Ok, I wasn't even going to say this BUT this morning, about a half an hour before class I got an email from the staff person which stated again that I would be charged more and if I didn't agree, I could not show up and they would just charge me for the days I had arrended. Later, in class this very person came in and had everyone sign a paper saying they agreed to the increase. I didn't want to sign and I'll admit I was annoyed but I was polite and said I wanted to review the document as it is not in my Mother tongue. And she tried to again say about the increase and petitioned a signature again. I declined and mentioned that she shouldn't be bothering us in class with these formalities as this was our time to learn. I was asked to speak outside and told that I had to either leave the property or sign. I said I'm not leaving I'm here to learn. This individual then informed me that if I didn't leave they were going to call the Police! I said "What? You go ahead then! Call them! And this person left. After a distraught conversation with a family member I reentered the class and continued with my lesson. The Police never came. I'm going to pay. I always was. I just wasn't happy about the bait and switch practices presented. I'm a nice sensible person but this is ridiculous.
And I this experience didn't happen because I'm a forigner and didn't understand.
