It has been three or four years since my knee procedure and everything is going well. I play golf in a few leagues, a once a month competitive league, couples golf league, and two other ladies golf leagues. I also do water aerobics three times a week, ride my bicycle (regular, not an E bike) four times a week, do calisthenics, and walk. I have absolutely no knee pain doing any of these things. I enjoy doing this all year long in south Texas!! Life is good thanks to Dr. Patel and his expertise!

I saw Dr. Patel for left shoulder arthritis in the AC joint. My orthopedic Dr. was recommending surgery. I was very impressed with Dr. Patel's knowledge, his attention and time to explain my issues. We decided to go with the stem cell procedure. Initially i was very skeptical as I couldn't find much in the way of proof stem cell procedures work. The procedure went smoothly and like the Dr. stated, it was extremely painful the next two weeks. At about the two month mark, i felt slight improvement and was able to return to surfing daily. I am now 5 months out and in a state of disbelief, my shoulder feels 95% better. I have regained full range and motion. I surf pain free and can even sleep on the shoulder again. I initially saw Dr. Patel for a second opinion for hip pain after getting his name from my physical therapist, and I am very thankful I did. Dr. Patel wanted to find the pain generator of the hip pain before considering any treatment. He took a thorough history and then did the most extensive physical exam I had ever had. He performed more diagnostic tests, which helped him figure out what was causing the pain. I am glad he did the additional tests; otherwise, he might have treated a part of the hip that was not the issue. The other providers I saw assumed what was causing the pain based on symptoms instead of trying to figure out exactly where the pain was coming from with more testing.

Dr. Patel always explains my body’s issues in a way I can understand before presenting any treatment options. He provides me with different treatment options customized to my needs and lets me ask him as many questions as I need. He also gives me time to think through the treatment options, and I never feel pressured into a procedure.

When scheduling the procedure, Lexie takes her time to explain what I need to do before and after the procedure. She is also great at answering any questions I have about the procedure and what to expect afterward, so I feel prepared before the procedure.

I’ve had many procedures with Dr. Patel; he always makes it the best experience possible. On PRP procedure days, I first have my blood drawn. Afterward, I relax until they prepare the PRP. I appreciate that they take the time to make sure the PRP quality is up to Dr. Patel’s standards since the quality makes a difference in how effective the PRP is. The quality of PRP going out of Dr. Patel’s lab is far superior to most providers who provide PRP to their patients, which is one of the many reasons I believe his patients have great post-procedure results.

Once the PRP is ready, his incredible MA Rahad takes me to the procedure room to get me comfortable on the table and prepared for Dr. Patel. She is kind and always supports me through the procedure while helping Dr. Patel. He always tells me what he is doing and what I will feel during the procedure. Dr. Patel uses his state-of-the-art imaging modalities to view the body part before proceeding with the procedure and throughout the procedure. Certain procedures can be uncomfortable at times, but Dr. Patel is great about checking in to see how I am doing. His staff also helps me through uncomfortable moments. When Dr. Patel finishes the procedure, the MAs put bandages over the injection sites and help me to my room. They check in to see if I need anything in the room to make me more comfortable. Dr. Patel comes back into the room for any last-minute questions and to ensure I am doing okay before I go home.
Afterward, Dr. Patel’s MA, Will, is great about checking in to ensure I’m doing well after the procedure and answering any questions.

Dr. Patel also writes specific instructions for physical therapy afterward, which is another reason his patients have excellent outcomes.

Dr. Patel is one of the best physicians I have ever had and the one I trust to perform any Orthobiologic procedure (PRP, bone marrow, etc.) on me. Although I have moved out of state temporarily, I still fly back to California to have procedures done with Dr. Patel.

I was introduced to Dr. Patel in 2019 from a friend of mine who saw him for PRP treatments. At that point I was in excruciating back pain with sciatic nerve pain down both my legs for months. I'm a Professional Dancer and the years of training and performing had finally taken it's toll on my body. I had a 17ml slipped disc between my L4 & L5 and was told by several surgeons that my only option was spinal surgery. I didn't want to go under the knife and possibly compromise my disc even more (for it to possibly slip again) but I was at my wits end, the pain shots stopped working (as I knew they would eventually) and I was ready for my body to heal and get back to basic movement and dancing again.
I met with Dr. Patel and his team to assess my options and felt very optimistic that PRP could help support my healing journey. I loved the idea of my body working to heal itself. What I appreciated about Dr. Patel was his thorough explanation of what PRP is, and that every body is different therefore some people take to it more than others. I appreciated his transparency about it, yet he felt incredibly hopeful it would work for me. I decided to have 2 sessions with him, spaced out correctly per his recommendation, and I'm so happy to say that IT WORKED. In 2020 I was back to dancing again, and have be thriving ever since.
Post procedure, we would look at my X-Rays & MRI images together and see how the disc had diminished in size, my back was healing itself creating more space in my spine and the disc was no longer touching my nerves. The PRP was working it's magic!! Since then, I've gotten several follow up emails from his staff checking-in to see how I'm feeling and making sure I'm still on track with my healing journey. I appreciate those personal follow ups. His staff is lovely, and the woman in the procedure room with him always made me feel at ease and comfortable throughout our injection process. They are quite a team. To anyone interested in what PRP can do and if it's right for you, then I highly recommend Dr. Patel and his team! No one should live with pain.

I feel Dr Patel really takes time to understand the issue so he can advise the best treatment.
In my case, the Stem Cell and PRP injections I received in my knee September of 2024 gave me about 80% relief of pain within about 4 months (I also did PT). Dr Patel checked in with me often to make sure I was progressing. I do trail running and have been able to get back to my distances I was doing prior to getting the knee pain.
I've been very happy with the treatment so far and would recommend looking into this therapy for knee issues.

Dr. Patel and his team/staff have been so helpful with my road to recovery. I started having pain and weakness in my legs (calf area) 2 years ago.
